WHAT TYPE OF GOLF RANGE FINDER IS BEST FOR YOU? 

Are you using a range finder when you play golf?  No?  Well actually you are, you are either, stepping off yardage, or eyeballing the pin.  These methods have their advantages and disadvantages.  For example, eyeballing the distance is quick and intuitive; it enhances your flow and speeds up the game.  But eyeballing your target can be very deceptive as architects have intentionally put in features to fool your eye; bunkers set forward of greens; tees built askew of play; hills and slopes and false fronts on greens.  All of this plays with our eyes and skews our judgment.  Walking off yardages is easy too, and it is a little more accurate, but it takes time, slows you down and does not work too well from off the fairway, from where most of us play.  So you are using a rangefinder, you are using your eye or markings that the course superintendant has supplied us.  Obviously these are not the best ways to go, the super has helped us a little.  By using yardage markers we will cut strokes from just eyeballing, but there are better faster ways to play golf and score your best.  Golf GPS and Laser Rangefinders are the better options, but one will fit your needs better than the other.  What kind of player are you?  Are you meticulous in your routine, or do you like to play super fast?  Are you somewhere between the extremes of meticulous and speed golf?  If you are a serious golfer then one thing you have in common is that you want to score your best.  If you love the game for the brisk walk, but still want to score like a pro, then the golf GPS unit is your tool.  If score is most important and time is not as consequential for you, then the laser rangefinder is a great option.  Golf GPS is the answer for those who want to speed up the game and cut strokes from their score.  A laser is for those who understand pace of play, but they want exact yardage.
